When my mom gifted me this watch for my 25th birthday, it was a total surprise. She even got one for herself so that it makes a pair.
 
Both are dual time watch that displays two time zones simultaneously, for a very sweet reason.
 
During that time, I was studying abroad in UK and she was in Hong Kong. She wanted to know what time it is for me, because she didn’t want to text or call me at weird hours.
 
I wear it all the time. Whenever I see it on my wrist, I feel like my mom is being there with me, even though I was alone in UK. It is like a reminder that we are always being connected. Never apart.
 
It got me thinking, what it is like to be my mom.
 
I’ve never seen anyone work the way my momdoes. No hours are too late, no “no” is too definitive, and no problem is too big to solve. She’s a symbol of hard work and perseverance – much like the watch she gave me. I wish I could be more like her one day.
