While the Rolex Daytona is famously linked to motorsports, the collection has long transcended the racetrack. In 2025, Rolex reintroduced three new meteorite dial models, once again skillfully merging speed with the cosmos, infusing the classic design with a hint of mysterious interstellar allure.

The three new Daytonas feature a silver meteorite dial and are crafted from 18K yellow gold (ref. 126518LN-0016), Everose gold (ref. 126515LN-0002), and white gold (ref. 126519LN-0007). All are paired with a black Cerachrom ceramic bezel and an Oysterflex bracelet, continuing the design language established in the 2023 Daytona overhaul. Their unexpected return, two years after the previous meteorite dial versions were discontinued, has delighted collectors who no longer need to gaze longingly at past models.

Looking back to 2021, Rolex released several meteorite dial Daytonas, including versions with black ceramic bezels and Oysterflex bracelets. However, those designs were based on the previous generation Daytona architecture. The new 2025 editions are built upon the fully upgraded platform introduced in 2023—with its enhanced movement and外观 (exterior)—further equipped with the meteorite dial, representing an evolution that feels both familiar and fresh.

The common highlight of these three new models is, of course, the silvery-white meteorite dial. Sourced from Gibeon iron-nickel meteorite that formed and cooled over billions of years, its surface features the unique Widmanstätten pattern. Each dial is like a totem personally carved by the universe. The watch features black trio (three) sub-dials and luminous hour markers that match the case metal, maintaining a visually strong sense of层次感 (depth and layers). The black ceramic bezel happens to be the most crucial detail for complementing the meteorite dial. Compared to previous precious metal bezel versions, the ceramic material provides a stronger visual contrast, better highlighting the intricate texture of the meteorite dial. This design direction gives the Daytona a slightly less ostentatious feel than full gold versions, adding instead a touch of interstellar depth. The case dimensions of the new meteorite dial Daytonas remain consistent with the 2023 update: 40mm case diameter, 11.9mm thickness, and a screw-down solid case back, naturally made of the same material as the case. The overall wearing experience is refined yet substantial, easily transitioning between formal and casual styles.

The watch is powered by Rolex’s new-generation Calibre 4131, boasting a 72-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vph. It is equipped with a Chronergy escapement, a Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, and Paraflex shock absorbers, offering excellent overall resistance to shocks and magnetism. Timekeeping accuracy remains at the Superlative Chronometer certification level (-2/+2 seconds per day), with water resistance of 100 meters, making it a master of both form and function.

Although these meteorite dial Daytonas are fitted with a rubber bracelet, the Oysterflex is far from a mere compromise for sportiness. This bracelet has a flexible metal blade embedded within, retaining the flexibility of rubber while offering the stable support of a metal bracelet. The underside features comfort-curve bumps, and it includes an Oysterlock safety clasp and an Glidelock extension system, allowing tool-free micro-adjustments for a combination of comfort and practicality. For enthusiasts who find a ‘full-gold Daytona too flashy,’ this configuration is arguably more appealing. It retains the heft and presence of a precious metal case while balancing the overall aesthetic with the rubber material, resulting in a look that is luxurious without being overtly showy.

The three 2025 Rolex meteorite dial Daytonas are not a radical design overhaul but rather a reinterpretation and refinement of past popular models. From material selection and color matching to the balance of details, they consistently demonstrate Rolex’s signature blend of prudence and innovation. Although the watch prices have increased significantly compared to similar 2021 models (Yellow Gold: NT$1,444,500; Everose & White Gold: NT$1,510,500 each. In 2021, the yellow gold meteorite with Oysterflex was priced at NT$1,090,500, and the other two precious metal versions with Oysterflex were NT$1,132,500 each), the price difference between old and new references exceeds 30%! However, considering the movement upgrade and the more contemporary overall design, these pieces remain highly值得关注 (worth watching) for collectors and Daytona enthusiasts alike.
